Winter Solstice always feels like the new year to me (rather than the calendar day we mark). It’s the beginning of the end of the darkness. As the light increases incrementally, I follow the hope of it. Looking forward to seeing the new commission palette as the alchemy percolates. Loved the party - it feels like we were all there.
I’ve somehow never read that quote by Jung. How true. I’m glad I didn’t know that when I started out. If I have a say in my afterlife, I’ll sit on the floor with Bukowski and Hunter S. and Sylvia Plath and T.S Eliot and ee cummings and Laurie Anderson (who might not be dead yet?) We’d listen to Strange Angels. But it wouldn’t be a party because l, like Keri, don’t like parties and will do pretty much anything to avoid them although you do make them sound lovely.
I enjoyed this newsletter so much. It's after Christmas and I am now in Mexico, far away from my Canadian winter, but reading your thoughts and scrolling through the collected assemblage of images and words - well it was just really beautiful. I love your newsletter and think that you are a genius. Best wishes for the year ahead. xoxo

The great turn of Solstice, thank you for taking us along to the party. Very much appreciate the mix of words, feelings and images.
Loved the surprise of Charles Bukowski at the end!
Me too!
Just amazing, thank you.
Thank you for giving me a taste of something I know I deeply miss.

I don't like parties very much, but I like your writing about them. What is the portal image? I want to use it for something.
It's a Pauline Baynes image. Classic illustrator of Narnia and Lord of the Rings I am pretty sure this is from Prince Caspian
You are too kind Judy. I am jealous for Mexico.
