I tried an acorn cap ink last spring from caps that had over wintered in the woods near me. It was a beautiful process. I especially like the scent they have when cooking.
So inspiring! Jason, what papers do you use? I really love the melding together of colors and the saturation. I've tried watercolor, smooth Bristol board.....
Gorgeous!! I’ve only been foraging on the shore and in the woods around my house lately, so rather than acorns, I collected dried alder cones (with alder tongue gall) this week. With the addition of some iron liquor, I wound up with a very similar silver-grey ink. (You can see photos on my IG.) Happy autumn and plentiful foraging!

Loved experimenting with acorn dye and ink this year. Picked up some dark acorn caps in NB that offered up a rich dark brown ink.

thank you. I usually use stonehenge paper cut down to test size. Fabriano is great too (a little more expensive)
